He looks out across the valley. He steps through what he calls the moment of choice. He shifts his weight slowly over his feet. From fifteen, he counts down silently saying only the ten and the five aloud. As he counts, he draws a breath. Four, three, two, one. As he exhales , he springs from the girder, into the open air. And then he falls.
